While at the Mid-South Regional, September 2, 2004, in Chattanooga, TN, I had the opportunity to speak with Ward Francillon about one of his favorite subjects - future Time Symposiums. I took the attached picture of Ward, his wife Mary and several friends.
From left to right is Mary Francillon, lady ?, Sandra Dugas, Dub Dugas, Richard Whipple, Mrs. Richard Whipple, and Ward Francillon with white hat on table.
I would like to share a short story to show an example of Ward's willingness to share his wealth of information.
Sandra and Dub Dugas (Louisiana) are new NAWCC members (~1 year) with an interest in wooden works clocks. Ward and Mary invited Sandra and Dub to their home after the Mid-South Regional to show his collection of wooden works clocks and to talk clocks in general.
Nick Bonura, New Orleans
Update from Bob Chapman.
The unidentified lady in the picture Nick made at the 2004 MidSouth Regional is Jean Parsley of Knoxville, TN, and widow of Warren Parsley. Warren was well known authority on wood work clocks and a long time friend of Ward and Mary. They visit in each other's home often and Warren collaborated with Ward on many research projects. Ward, Mary, and Jean are members of TN Valley Chapter 42.
Update from Nick Bonura.
I also just found out that Richard Whipple's wife's first name is Ruth.
